Mother Armenia (Armenian .այր-Հայաստան) is a monument in honor of the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War in Yerevan. Height 54 m, of which 22 m - the height of the statue. Located in Haghtanak Park (Victory), towering above the city center. The pedestal (1950, architect Rafael Israelyan) is made of granite, the motifs of the national ornament are used - stone carvings. Initially, a monument to Stalin was installed on it (sk. Sergei Merkurov), dismantled in 1962. The statue "Mother Armenia" (1967, sk. Ara Harutyunyan) is made in hammered copper, symbolizing the power and greatness of the Motherland. It is an image of a mother sheathing a sword.
