In 1986 it was built a new stadium "Avangard" on one of the stands at 5,000 seats. Pripyat town's main arena were treadmills, the first row of the stands located on a two-meter height. Official opening of the main city stadium was to be held May 1, 1986, but to play at the new arena "builder" was not meant to be.
