Chapel stood on the Marienplatz at the mouth of the Aleš street. neat, stylistically pure Empire chapel of circular plan view (diameter 6.40 m), the columnar portal decorated triangular fronton low and wrought grille and a domed roof topped with a lantern patriarchal cross. The dominant feature of the interior of a small chapel soon became a romantic image of the Virgin Mary of Znojmo painter Anton Ferenz (today in the chapel of the Child Jesus in the Temple St. Nicholas), influenced by a model of the Virgin Mary of Passau. The chapel was built in 1822 on the site of husbands Scharfnitzelovými Calvary from 1730 (regional plans drawn up by architect Josef Damisch). It was built between February 2, 1822 (issued permits for construction) and 13 July 1822 (consecrated Znojmo přímětickým dean and rector Frantisek Kratochvil). Chapel originally stood between vineyards, she later began to surround homes Marian Square. In 1890 the chapel became the property of the town of Znojmo.
