Park Avenue, west side, from E. 60th to 6lst Streets, showing Christ Church (M. E. ) and the Park Avenue Tennis Club. The church, a new edifice of the congregation of the Madison Avenue M. E. Church is at the N. W. corner of 60th Street and replaced an apartment house (erected in 1911 and demolished in 1930). The tennis courts are where the Brearley School formerly stood (also cleared in 1930). Upon this site (N. Y. Times of Jan. 18, 1940) will rise a 19 story apartment house. Note the Savoy Plaza Hotelin the center background.August 13, 1936
