The monument was unveiled in one of the side alleys of the park. Initially, it was surrounded by chains, as photographs and engravings of that time testify. In the mid-50s, the monument was moved to the center of the park and installed on the axis of the alley of classics, which is a symbol of the internationalism of poetry as the spiritual value of humanity of all times and peoples. Pushkin was the idol of Moldavian poets and writers, his contemporaries, with many of whom he loved to walk through this park.
