The parliament building is located on Stadio Street in Athens. In 1875-1932 he was occupied by parliament. Nowadays, the building is located the National Historical Museum. Initially at this place was the estate of the Athenian magnate Contoslavlos. After Athens became the capital of Greece in 1833 (after Nafplion), King Otton chose the house of Kontoslavlos as his residence until the new Royal Palace was built - now the Greek Parliament. In 1835, large ballroom and banquet halls were completed. After the September 3 uprising, which forced King Otto to submit a constitution, the National Assembly was convened for the first time in this building. In October 1854 the whole house burned down during a fire. The construction of a new building was planned by the French architect Francois Bulanger. The following year, construction was suspended due to lack of funds and resumed only in 1863, when Otton was overthrown
