Bulgaria. Sofia. My grandfather, architect-artist Alexander Alexandrovich Yakovlev, immediately after graduating from the Imperial Academy of Arts, was invited by his teacher, Acad. A.N. Pomerantsev for this construction and became an assistant to the chief architect. This project was given 8 years, from April 1904 until the fall of 1912. His professional duties included detailed design and construction supervision. It was a great school for a novice architect.
