In the background the Whitehall Buildings. The original building was constructed from 1902-1904 as a speculative office building designed by architect Henry Hardenbergh. The annex, also known as Greater Whitehall, is a 31-story skyscraper located at 26 Washington Street, next door to the Whitehall Building. It was built from 1908 to 1910 as an extension to the Whitehall Building.The pair of buildings was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on February 8, 2000.
