The town hall was built in 1732-1734 gg. in the classical style by William Adam. The building had a steeple taller than 40 meters, which rose from the center of the roof. On the ground floor arcade gave him a local name "Pillars". The building was renovated after a fire in 1771, expanded in 1872 and demolished in 1932
