Lutheran Church of Hallgrimskirkja. Named after the poet and spiritual leader Hadlgrimur Pietursson. The building, 73 meters high, was built 38 years - from 1945 to 1986. The temple seats 1,200 people. It has a huge mechanical organ, which reaches a height of 15 m, weighs 25 tons and has 5275 tubes. Photo taken 12/27/1973
