In the 1920s, a school for children of railway workers was built in the Zalineiny district of the city on Kotovsky Street. It is interesting that the central stone part of the school was made with classicist features, and the facades of the side wooden wings combined elements of traditional house-building with the architecture of railway station buildings. During the German occupation, the school housed an infirmary. Before the liberation of Gomel, the building was burned. As a result, only a stone façade remained, which was later demolished. In the 1960s, a new three-story school was built on the site of the building according to a standard design.
