The tower is in the photo next to the mansion of the XIX century. The tower is a residential building of the middle of the XVI century. One of the three identical towers in the area - there are still similar Robgill Tower and Wooshouse Tower. They all were erected in one period as defensive and at the same time residential buildings. Perimeter approx. 10.5 m × 7.5 m, with the Bonshaw Tower the largest of the three, a four-story building with a spiral staircase through all floors. On each floor - one room, in the hall on the ground floor there is a fireplace. This room is 8.2 m × 5.3 m with a ceiling height of 3.1 m. There is a hatch in the floor that leads to the basement prison cell, with ventilation, but without a window ... Like all old castles, they also tell about ghosts and the underground passage.
