Birdseye view of the Tidewater Oil Co. building construction site, located at 4201 Wilshire Boulevard view is looking northeast. Wilshire Boulevard is bottom left to top right corner and Crenshaw Boulevard is bottom right corner to middle right. The architects for the building are Claude Beelman and Associates Bethlehem Pacific are steel frame fabricators and builders C.L. Peck Construction and Realty Co. are general contractors. Photograph dated September 19, 1957. When completed, this white marble office building housed the headquarters for Getty Oil and came to be known as the Harbor Building. Prior to its construction, the lot had been occupied by an expansive estate, built in 1926 for William Jenkins, which served as the home of aging Hollywood star Norma Desmond in Billy Wilder's film "Sunset Boulevard."
