Bleecker Street, northeast side, north from Seventh Avenue South, across Grove, to Christopher Street's. The two blocks shown are the last of the section that passed thru the former Herring Farm, and was called Herring Street. The triangular block in the foreground exists since the cutting thru of Seventh Avenue in 1915. Antiquated attic structures seen are No's. 305-7 &. 309. The latter, formerly No. 293, is the house in which Thomas Paine lived from July, 1808, to April, 1809. At this time Herring Street was newly opened.
