Looking across the street towards a small Spanish style building containing three storefronts in the 120 block of Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica. The two identifiable businesses are: Marie Wylan at 120 1/2 and Mirimar U Drive at 120. This building was later demolished and replaced with another commercial building. To the right are Lawrence Welk Plaza, later 100 Wilshire, and the Champagne Towers (center background), built by Lawrence Welk and principally designed by Cesar Pelli for the firm Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall in 1969. 100 Wilshire is the tallest building in the city, and, at this time, was the headquarters for General Telephone.
