Little Julien is one of the symbols of Brussels. One version says that Julien witnessed how during the siege the enemies laid explosives into the city wall, set fire to the cord, and hid themselves in a shelter. There was no time to run for help or seek water, and he extinguished the cord in this way, thereby saving his hometown. The figure of the boy was established in 1619. Photo of 1960.
