The monument is located in Edinburgh on Princes Street near Edinburgh Waverley Station, named after Scott's Waverley novel. The total height of the monument is 61.11 m. Scott Monument has several viewing platforms that overlook the center of Edinburgh and its remote areas . The highest platform can be reached by going through 287 steps
