Broadway, north from W. 43rd Street (intersection at right foreground) showing the open area formed by the crossing of this thoroughfare and Seventh Avenue and known as Times Square. Prominently seen is the Hotel Astor. To the left of same are brownstone structures where the 6 story Putnam Building was later erected. Today (1938) the huge Paramount Building occupies this site. Note the sole automobile and street car. To the right is the New York Theatre. December 1905.
