Ponte Vecchio (Italian: Ponte Vecchio, the old bridge) - the famous bridge over the Arno River in Florence, located in the narrowest place of the river, almost opposite the Uffizi Gallery. It is the oldest bridge in the city: it was built in 1345 by the architect Neri di Foravanti [it] and has retained its original appearance to this day. Initially, there were butcher shops here, today there are jewelry stores and souvenir sellers. The bridges closest to it are: Santa Trinita Bridge and Ponte alle Grazie.
