In the center of the square is the red marble fountain Országalma, installed in 1943. It symbolizes the historical past of the city as the capital of Hungary and the place where the rulers of the country were crowned. The phrase, engraved on the stone, marks the acquisition of free status by the city. Three dates 1001, 1688 and 1938.1001 are also carved on marble - accession to the throne of Istvan I the Saint. 1688 - liberation from the Turkish yoke. 1939 - 900th anniversary of the death of King Istvan I the Saint. A marble apple rests on three lions, and a cross is installed on its top - recognition of Christianity.
