On the southern walkway, facing Manhattan, near the midpoint of the bridge. The George Washington Bridge is the most heavily trafficked bridge in the world, and formerly had the longest span in the world. In the photos you can see the quadruple suspender wires, formerly fully exposed, now covered by a protective sheath. Likewise, to prevent suicides, the fence itself has been extended upwards and a net attached overhead.
