1st Street, east from the Bowery, as photographed from under the Third Avenue "El". In the background, on First Avenue, is a station of the Second Avenue "El" Line. Between these two similar transportation features is Second Avenue. The three story carved corner building at the right was the infamous Suicide Hall. The owner was "Bloody" McGurk. July 1928
