In 1926, a knitting workshop was created in Gomel, which in 1930 was transformed into a hosiery and knitting factory named after March 8. By 1941, the enterprise had a sewing and knitting workshop, a fashion laboratory, and produced silk and cotton underwear, jumpers. In connection with the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the factory was evacuated to Chkalov (modern Orenburg). After the liberation of Gomel in the fall of 1943, workers returning to the city found complete destruction at the site of the enterprise. The territory of the factory was destroyed to the ground. In 1946, the factory named after March 8 resumed production activities.
