Designed by Stanton and Stockwell, the Junipero Serra State Office Building opened in 1960 and was in use until 1998 it was demolished in 2006 and is the site of a new Federal Courts Building. The State of California replaced its offices with the Ronald Reagan State Building, located at 300 S. Spring Street. Established in 1891, the Los Angeles Law Library is operated under the California Business and Professions Code, Section 6300 et seq. as an independent public agency and has a seven-member Board of Trustees and an Executive Director.
