According to information provided on the verso of the image, this large school served students ranging in level from Kindergarten to Junior College. In the late 1920s, all schools in Fontana were overseen by the Chaffey Union High School District. Founded in 1913, Fontana was known primarily as a ranch and agricultural town until a steel mill operated by Kaiser Steel transformed the community during WWII and the post-war period.
