In the city of Lodz was stationed the 37th Catherine Infantry Regiment. By the centenary of the founding of the regiment, it was decided to erect a church. Construction money [hfvf was donated by the industrialists of одódзь, and first of all, by Juliusz Hensl. The first stone in the foundation of the church was laid in 1894. The five-domed brick temple in the Russian style was built by the project of the urban architect Boats Francis Halminsky. The peculiarity of the architectural solution of the church is that it was an integral single spacious hall on the ground floor.
