"The Old Pinakothek" (German: Alte Pinakothek) is an art gallery in Munich. It is one of the most famous galleries in the world. It presents the works of masters of the Middle Ages until the middle of the XVIII century. Opposite the Old Pinakothek is the New Pinakothek with works by artists of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The third Pinakothek of Munich - the Pinakothek of modern times - presents art of the XX and XXI centuries.
