This is the number of persons employed at the Los Angeles Produce Terminal Market, where individuals work most of the night to supply the demand of local produce appetites, reportedly the biggest per capita in the United States." This photograph shows the Los Angeles Produce Terminal Market buzzing with morning activity. Location is approximate.This facility, located at 1601 E. Olympic Blvd., was built in 1918 as a replacement for the City Market, which was located at 9th and San Pedro. In 1986, the Produce Terminal at was restored and renamed the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market.
