Car factory Spiker on Amsteldike. In 1880, two Spiker brothers opened the Spiker Brothers car factory in Hilversum, and the company moved to Amsteldijk (corner Trompenburgstraat) in Amsterdam in 1898. Among other things, gold carriages were built there. automobile production, the Dutch brand of Spyker cars went international by the 1920s, but the factory, which became an international automobile brand, went bankrupt in 1926. The brand name was registered in 1999, and since 2000 exclusive Spyker Cars have been produced.
