The picture needs to be adjusted. Most likely it was made from the roof of the house on the square, but I don’t have any views of this part of the square at that time. The old bazaar was called the Black Bazaar by the color of the tufa of the row walls, and the Old Bazaar by value. It was created in the first half of the 1600s by foreigners occupying the city, and had a typical building layout for Asia. From the 17th century, the north side of the square was occupied by shops of Persian merchants, Azerbaijanis, and Arabs. South - Armenian artisans and merchants, Georgian and Central Asian merchants. The south side was occupied by Russian and Turkish shops. Until the beginning of the 20th century, Asian-type caravanserais, European-style inns and hotels surrounded the bazaar from all sides. The bazaar was more a center of trade: utensils, leather and metal products, wood chips, fabrics, spices, dried fruits, raw materials for industry.
