Looking southeast from the Methodist Headquarters Building, 125 Marchessault Street (renamed E. Sunset Boulevard and later Paseo de la Plaza). Seen is an empty plot of land between Alameda (left) and Los Angeles (lower right) streets. Also visible, left to right, are the southern parking lot of Union Station (upper left), various commercial and industrial buildings, and the under construction on-ramps for the Santa Ana Freeway/US 101 (right of center). Dated October 30, 1951. The entire block of Los Angeles Street between Marchessault and Arcadia streets was demolished to make room for the 101 Freeway the area north of the on-ramps later became Father Serra Park.
