Weimar was appointed cultural city for 1999. For Kulturstadt GmbH, Base Architects developed a concept for replicating a faithful 1 to 1 copy of the Goethe garden house in the park at the ILM a few meters away. The copy was the second part of a three -part exhibition of the garden house, which dealt with the original, physical copy and a virtual copy of the garden house in the Schillermuseum. The copy was then issued at the Expo 2000 in Hanover and then erected in Bad Sulza, where it is still located today.
