Friedrichstrasse (Friedrichstraße) - border checkpoint created after the separation of the city by the Berlin Wall (in western and eastern Berlin). Also known by the name of Checkpoint Charlie. In October 1961, this checkpoint became the arena of “tank confrontation. Turning into a symbol of a clash between powers. Checkpoint Charlie gained the greatest fame among all checkpoints in Berlin.
