Orsay Museum, opened in 1986, is located in a former train station of the same name and the adjoining hotel on the left bank of the Seine in the heart of Paris, across the river from the Louvre. Station, designed by architect Victor Laloux, was inaugurated May 28, 1900 and became the world's first electrified railway station.
