The command southwest of the castle bridge is essentially the former residential building built in 1653/54 on the Friedrichswerder and engineer Johann Gregor Memhardt. -Building master and engineer Johann Gregor Memhardt. Revolved in 1792/93, it has been used as a service and residential building of the Berlin city commander since 1799. Their last appearance receives the command by conversion and increase in 1873/74. The building, which appears defending by the cuboid plaster of the facades, consists of a front building with two short side wings, which include a small courtyard. The victorious eagles on the corner postacies of the Risalite and the relief in the roof balance above the entrance emphasize the military purpose determination of the building, the formal language of which is visibly borrowed from the Schinkel School.
