Rillly la Montagne is one of the oldest village of the Champagne region. Backing onto the mountain of Rheims and overlooking vineyards, Rilly la Montagne has kept its character and traditions of a small Champagne village.The railway from Epernay to Rheims opened on the 5th of June 1854. All trains stop at several stations in-between, including Rilly-la-Montagne. All local railway stations have been completed by 1854.This photo shows the station damags, after the bombing by the Allies in July 1944.
