On the south side of Werder's market, Heinrich Gentz was built in early classicist style in 1798-1800 instead of the Werderschen town hall, which was burned down in 1794. Since only the ground floor is intended for mint purposes - on the upper floors, the top construction deputation and the newly founded building academy are accommodated - but the tasks of the coin are constantly increasing, extension buildings and from 1868 a new building on the adjacent land will be necessary. The old coin (without the famous frieze) was used as a police station in 1871-95 and in 1886, like the neighboring Princely House (right), sacrificed to the "Werderhaus", which is built here by Alfred Messel until 1888. By Johann Arnold Nering for Minister Eberhard von Danckelmann and after his fall to accommodate princely guests, where it gets his name from. After changing use, it offers space until the early 1880s of the 130th parish school.
