Tavern Street in 1868 taken from the top of the Town hall, you can make out the store of George W. Bales of Ipswich, He was an English gun and bow maker. He was listed further up Tavern Street in 1838 and at 15 Cornhill ( as in photo) in 1845–70, when hismarks reportedly appeared on a few self cocking pepperboxes and cap lock revolvers.
