Experts have long assumed that the two parts of the diptych, but modern research has been able to prove the truth of this hypothesis. It was found that both the board used for writing patterns are part of the same wood - oak, felled around 1446 diptych called Melonskogo city Melun, in the cathedral of Notre Dame, which he was. Etienne Chevalier is depicted on the left side of the diptych kneeling in prayer.
