Panic and shooting began in their cries: "The British is here!". The officers tried in vain to calm the troops. Then the Germans accused the inhabitants of the city in a subulsion attack on their soldiers and destroyed the city in punishment - the central part of Lövin almost completely burned out. The Germans had a version that the punishment was legitimate. An investigation conducted over the next years has not led to anything. The library is restored, and is one of the most beautiful buildings of the city - Panorama -
