First Avenue, east side, north from and including 57th Street the view is cut off by the Queensboro Bridge just north of 59th Street. Sixteen-story apartment is to be erected in 1928 on the S.E. corner of 58th Street, replacing 1058-1064 First Avenue and 400-406 East 58th Street. In 1929 a similar apartment building will replace Nos. 1070-1082 First Avenue and 400-406 East 59th Street. In the right of the picture may be seen part of the New York Orthopedic Hospital at 423-435 East 58th Street. September 20, 1927.
