The house, known as Hôtel Lepas-Dubuisson, was built on the site of the old Porte Saint-Jacques, which was demolished in 1684. In 1717, the architect Lepas-Dubuisson acquired a plot of land to build a house according to his design. Construction continued until 1720, when the architect went bankrupt. In 1727, the building was bought by Nicolas Le Camus and a year later, in 1728, it was completed. Sometimes the house is called Hôtel Le Camus de Mézières (this is the son of Nicolas Le Camus, by the way, the architect's second son, Antoine Le Camus, also became a famous person, he was the dean of the Faculty of Medicine). The complex includes a house on rue Saint-Jacques (photo), intended for rental apartments and commercial premises, as well as a mansion between a courtyard and a large garden extending to the rear of the town hall of the 5th arrondissement. The house is decorated with mascarons on the street and courtyard sides.
