First Avenue (right foreground), at the N.W. corner of E. 54th Street, showing East Side tenements against a back drop of Fifth Avenue hotels. The most prominent of these is the Ritz Tower. To the right and left respectively are the Pierre and the Savoy-Plaza. In the center is the Hotel Delmonico.
