The Spanish style facade of the KMPC radio station in Beverly Hills features a sign that reads "KMPC, the station of the stars." This structure has since been demolished and replaced with a high rise.KMPC started in 1927 as KRLO at 218 Larchmont. The station moved to 9631 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills in 1928 as KEJK. The call letters changed to KMPC in 1930 after the current owners McMillan Petroleum Company. Although ownership has changed the call letters remained the same until 1997 when they were sold to a sports station. In 1944 the station moved to 5939 Sunset Boulevard and finally in 1968 to 5858 Sunset Boulevard (home to KTLA).
