Berlin
Kaiser Wilhelm II had the Berlin Cathedral built from 1894 to 1905 as a court and cathedral church. In the same place, the chapel of a collegiator monastery, which was known as the cathedral church, has been in the same place. Frederick the Great had had a church built with a tambour dome in 1747, which was rebuilt in 1822, after the Union of Lutherans and Reformed in Prussia, by Karl Friedrich Schinkel in the classicist style. After two bombings in 1940 and 1944, the cathedral and especially the dome had been badly damaged. In the post -war years, the God's services and church concerts were held in the area of the Hohenzollern crypt. The reconstruction of the building only started 30 years later and was finally completed in 2002.
