Section of fortifications with the so -called Otakar bastion. Probably after the foundation of the city, its builders proceeded to establish a city fortification. The oldest fortification of České Budějovice consisted of fortified walls, reinforced with half -cylinder bastions. This fortification wreath was largely demolished in the 19th century. Otakar's bastion is one of the few remains of the oldest fortification of České Budějovice.
