Seventh Avenue South, east side, and 76-70 Grove Street, at and south of the Sheridan Square subway station at West 4th Street. The subway entrance is in a little island which used to be the N.W. corner of Grove (formerly Burrows Street, originally Columbia Street) and West 4th (formerly Asylum Street) Streets. Sheridan Square (q.v.) is properly the triangular open space shown here in the left background, but it is loosely applied to both sides of Seventh Avenue South, from Christopher to Grove Streets, inclusive. About 1928.
