Château de la Pataudière is a rectangular building consisting of five pavilions connected in series. The castle was probably originally built at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, and then at the end of the 19th century. was expanded with the last two pavilions on the south side. It retains some of its defences: closed oval loopholes, embrasures, etc., as well as part of its enclosing wall, a gate and two corner towers, one of which has been converted into a chapel and the other has an ancient spiral staircase. Various service rooms are located around a central courtyard adjacent to the northern fence of the castle. One of the owners, Georges Félix Pays-Mellier (1839-1923), opened it at the beginning of the twentieth century. in the castle garden there is a zoo, which was often written about in the press. Rare animals such as cassowaries, exotic sheep, maras - Patagonian hares, zebras, capybaras, etc. were kept there.
