On the left (western) cheek of the free stairs to the old museum is the plastic of the lion fighter, which was designed by Christian Daniel Rauch by Albert Wolff 1854-61. The bronze group also captivates with its liveliness and artistic execution. Here, however, the viewer of Ross and Reiter seem larger than in the neighboring group, even if the scene shown is just as dramatic.
