The view is focused on the nine-axle facade of the "Imperial Reich General-Postamts building" in Leipziger Strasse. The four-winged facility was built in the Neorenaissance style in 1871-74 according to Carl Schwatlo plans and is the first service building of a Reich authority in Berlin after 1871 and seat of the central authority for the entire postal management of the German Empire. In addition to the official apartment of the General Postmeister Heinrich von Stephan, the post museum, founded in 1878, is initially located in the three-storey building. Behind the relatively short street front extends a deep property with the business premises grouped around two courtyards for the secret law firm, the registrations and the invoice office.1893-98 through the building office of the Reichpostamt, a monumental extension according to a draft carried out by Ernst Hake.
